Last week I shared an update at my networking group about the work we’re doing at Rehab Jigsaw — and I wanted to bring the key message here too.
More people than ever are working while managing long-term health conditions.
More employers are trying to retain great people whilst reducing absence and supporting wellbeing.
And more individuals are doing their best to cope, often without tailored support.
This is where occupational therapy makes a measurable difference.
At Rehab Jigsaw we help when:
- Health starts to affect work performance
- Employees are struggling to cope but don’t need to be off sick
- Managers want to help but aren’t sure how
- Businesses need clear, evidence-based workplace adjustments
- A return-to-work plan needs to be safe, structured and sustainable
✅ Our approach
We combine clinical expertise with business practicality through a 3-tier model:
- Proactive education — early awareness, manager confidence, prevention
- Targeted support — coaching, pacing, emotional and psychological input, fatigue & cognitive strategies (this is OT treatment)
- Specialist OT input — workplace assessments, structured return-to-work plans
The outcome?
Confident managers, supported staff, stronger retention, and healthy, productive workplaces.
🔍 A recent success
Supporting an employee with Parkinsons Disease to:
- Optimise safety in a manufacturing plant – mobility issues and tremor
- Manage fatigue and cognitive load
- Adjust work routines to account for impact of medication
- Build confidence again
Result: retained skilled talent, reduced risk, and sustainable performance — without prolonged absence. This person had no need for any sickness absence and we could assess his functional capacity in the workplace.
🤝 If you’re an employer, HR leader, or OH team
And you want to strengthen your workforce health strategy in a way that is evidence-based, human-centered and commercially sensible, let’s talk.
When people can work well, businesses work better.
